I just realized that I haven’t exactly written detailed posts about the trips I’ve been to for the past two years. Either I’m that busy or I’m just lazy but never mind, I’m here to change that.

The upcoming posts will be about the following trips:

Hong Kong – January 2013
Macau – January 2013
Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh and Mui Ne) – April 2013
Cambodia (Siem Reap) – April 2013
Thailand (Bangkok) – April 2013
Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Penang) – April 2013
Singapore – April 2013
Hong Kong – July 2013
Singapore – January 2014
Japan (Tokyo) – May 2014
Cagayan de Oro City – August 2014
Japan (Kyoto, Osaka and Nara) – January 2015

I know there’s a lot on my plate right now but I really want to share my adventures (and more often than not, misadventures) so I will try my best to complete this…within the year.

Wish me luck!

Japan: The Second Time Around

Last May, the boyfriend and I flew to Tokyo on a whim (sort of) and since it was quite unplanned, everything happened very quickly. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights and it wasn’t enough considering that Tokyo is a huge city. Just when we were starting to feel at home, the trip was already over!

Soon after the trip, we learned that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was set to open in July the same year and I was pretty much devastated. Why oh why? Why didn’t I know??? My only consolation was that Osaka is quite far from Tokyo and even if it did open while we were in Japan, we still won’t be able to go. I believe that would have been worse.

To pacify me, the boyfriend suggested that we go back to Japan in 2015 for my beloved Harry Potter. I had this crazy idea to schedule the trip on my birthday to make it more special. Winter + Harry Potter + Quality Time — it couldn’t be more perfect!

A Different Disneyland

I just realized I didn’t write much about our trip to Tokyo last May (in fact, I haven’t written anything in the past couple of months) so I decided to do it now before I get busy again. We will also be traveling to Osaka in January 2015 for my birthday so I consider this as psyching myself for the impending trip. I’m already excited as it is, just thinking about spending my special day in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Winter + Harry Potter = Gaaaaaah!!!! *twirls*

Tokyo During Spring

An elderly couple having a quiet picnic in the Imperial Palace Garden, 07 May 2014

I have a love/hate relationship with Spring. I love the weather— it’s not too cold but not too hot either— and the beautiful and colorful blooms that are picture perfect. It could have been great, if only I wasn’t allergic to pollen.

My Happiness Project – Day 09: Quality Time

I know, I know. We see each other almost every single day. We should be sick of each other’s face by now. Some even say that we’re starting to look alike. (Though in our defense, our features are already similar to begin with.)

We can’t deny the fact, however, that our respective hectic work schedules still get in the way most of the time. Yes, we see each other after work, but it’s not what you will call “quality time”. More often than not, this is our routine: Meet after work (around 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM), tell each other about how our day went while eating dinner (takes about 1-2 hours), we will then go to my place. He will either tell me that he will just drop me off because he’s tired, or he will stay for a bit to take a nap (in which I will wake him up around 10pm because he doesn’t like staying later than that).

Anyway, this is the reason why I’m glad that we had the chance to get away— just the two of us. It was a semi-spontaneous trip, and that’s what makes it more exciting. It’s been a year since our last trip together, albeit with another friend.
